My Eyelashes Have Little To Do With Motherhood

Today I’m tired. Tired of being a Mom, tired of being pregnant, tired of my house lacking a huge spa bathtub where I can run and hide with a box of Calgon.

So I’ll take a break from Parent Stuff and talk about something seriously important: my favorite eyelash curler. It’s made by shu uemera and it is completely off the hook.

Before I became a Mom I was super into makeup. Well, let’s make that super into the idea of makeup. Not that I’d wear a ton, but I sure liked buying it and playing with it. I never spent more than ten minutes putting it on in the morning and now it’s down to about three. But I make a point to spend that three minutes nearly every day. Even if I’m not going anywhere special, it makes me feel way more connected to the outside world and the person I used to be in the business world. And I feel less like a shlump, which is pretty important when you’re assisting at pre-school.

If I’m too lazy to spend the three minutes, then I’ll just put on some concealer, curl my eyelashes and throw on my favorite lip gloss and call it a day. Seriously people, this eyelash curler is fantastic. I don’t pinch my eyes with it, which is a huge feat, and my eyelashes don’t come out looking like a series of painfully attached right angles. Maybe it’s the “mushroom shaped silicone pad” or perhaps the “upgraded patented hinge with precise engineering which applies the perfect amount of pressure on eyelashes.” I’m sure you’ll all rest easier just knowing that its “calculated shape and size of frame length and ergonomic handles ensure stability and control.” (Who writes this stuff?) Whatever the reason or technology behind it, it’s the bomb.

It aint cheap ($19.00) but it’s worth it because you’ll look WAY more awake, which is all smoke and mirrors for me these days.
