Snuggle With My Snoogle
Posted by Missy W. @ 4:39 AM
Look! A new guest reviewer. Today’s review is from Natalie Zee Drieu of the fabulous Coquette Blog and the CRAFT magazine blog. Natalie is pregnant with her first bambino. Congratulations and thanks for the review, Nat!
I love to sleep. When I don’t sleep well through the night, I get groggy. This ended up happening to me more and more after my first trimester when I really began to grow. My doctor advised me not sleep on my back and recommended I get a body pillow to help me sleep better. A body pillow?! Where would I store it? It wouldn’t look so pretty on top of the bed. Ahh!
I have to say, I was a bit skeptical at the idea of this huge pillow in bed with me and my husband. I didn’t want him to think it was a big barricade between us either. But for the sake of a good night’s sleep I had to try it. After extensive research online, I ended up getting the Leachco Snoogle Deluxe Total Body Pillow.
The first night it took some getting used to, but now three months later, I can’t imagine sleeping without it! First off, I never roll on my back because I’m either cuddling the pillow along it’s long edge, or that same long edge is behind me to prevent me from turning over. Bye bye lower back pain! Genius! The Snoogle Deluxe pillow even comes with a diagram of all the different positions you can use it to sleep with, sit up, and later even nurse your baby with. Lately, if you can believe it, I’ve been also propping myself on the couch to watch TV with this pillow since it’s so comfy. You can take off the two-piece pillow case for easy washing and it also comes in an organic version.
One super small drawback though is on a hot summer night, cuddling a huge pillow seems to turn the temperature up even more. In this situation, I ended up just using my regular sleeping pillow and letting some of the top part of the pillow drape off the bed so it’s just a leg support. Also, you’ll find that after sleeping for a while with the pillow, it will get flat in some places. This happens usually the area for your head or where you’re resting your legs. So far, I’ve been just “fluffing” up the areas each morning and the pillow is in great shape. I’m sure it can survive my final three months!
Believe me, this pillow is a life saver. Between the ever growing belly, the nighttime heartburn, constant hunger, and the little kicking party my baby likes to have inside me at night, this pillow has finally given me more restful sleep than I could ever ask for.
